Foley is intrigued with visual culture. His work questions the legitimacy of an image in the context of contemporary visual nomenclature in which images, depiction and ideas function. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, he wants to enlighten the viewer by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil lyrical passages that leave traces and balance on the edge of recognition and alienation.
